Cut encaustic monotypes ‘stitched’ together with staples, screwed to a strip of wood
Artist's Statement
My work is abstract and begins with encaustic monotypes. After creating the monotypes, I cut them into small pieces and using encaustic medium put a backing on them. The puzzle-like pieces are then reconfigured, and ‘stitched’ together with staples, resulting in a paper sculpture that is screwed to wooden strips and hangs off the wall.
I often feel that my works tells a story to which the viewer contributes.
