I am a printmaker and mixed media artist. My work is abstract and begins with
encaustic monotypes. After creating the monotypes, I cut them into small pieces and
using encaustic medium put a backing on them. The puzzle-like pieces are then
reconfigured, and ‘stitched’ together with staples, resulting in a paper sculpture that is
screwed to wooden strips and hangs off the wall.
I often feel that my works tells a story to which the viewer contributes.
My work is influenced by my son’s work. He is an astrophysicist who studies gravitational
waves and black holes at Monash University. My imaginary visions reflect my perceptions
of his research, and the search for what is beyond what the eye can see.
