Michael Ryan

I am a long time painter of the Iowa Countryside, its people, and slice of life subjects.  I fall somewhere between an impressionist and an expressionist in broadest sense.  My work, typically, has high key color, interesting compositions, and expressive brushwork.  I am a great believer that the "hand of the artists" is a very important element in a painting.  I strive for a bit of visual poetry and try to present to the viewer an interesting art experience.  I am well collected by both institutions and individuals.
